The championship game was set up to be a battle of titans, and it lived up to the hype from the very first whistle. The first half saw the Rockets get off to a strong start, with Holly connecting on a touchdown pass and running backs grinding out tough yards on the ground. At halftime, MGR held a narrow 6-0 lead, with the defense stifling Rogers' offense. However, the second half was a different story.
MGR’s defense, which had been so dominant in the first half, started to show cracks. Penalties, missed tackles, and defensive breakdowns allowed Rogers to capitalize and control the pace of the game. With just under three minutes left in the fourth quarter, Rogers took the lead for the first time, 24-6, thanks to a touchdown run by Rogers running back. Rogers never looked back and the Rockets couldn't get it together.
Though the loss stings, the future looks bright for the MGR Rockets. With a young, talented roster and a proven coaching staff, they are expected to remain a formidable force in the years to come.
